The use of olive oil as a cure to ulcers may well have been forgotten for centuries, until 30 years ago when the condiment was taken into a unique medical study involving ulcers. According to the study, ulcers are caused by H. pylori bacteria, which damage the stomach lining. The antioxidant nature of olive oil is meanwhile effective in removing the several strains of the said bacteria from the stomach and prevent them from settling in, thus protecting the person from stomach ulcers.
